Animal Disease Genomics: Opportunities and Applications
9th - 12th June 2008, Edinburgh, UK

EADGENE held their 4th annual meeting on Animal Genomics Research from 9th - 12th June 2008 in Edinburgh, UK. This 4-day event focussed on the latest genetics and genomics research in the field of farm animal health, through a 2-day conference which was preceded and followed by a series of satellite workshops and meetings. The conference featured a series of presentations by keynote speakers and leading specialists in their fields which updated delegates on the latest animal genomics research. It also included a joint session with the Med-Vet-Net Network of Excellence.

EADGENE Animal Trait Ontology Initiative Workshop, 12th June 2008

The objectives of the workshop were 1) to illustrate what the main activities around the development of the ATO are, 2) to give feedback to those involved in the process, 3) to discuss how to improve the process and the value of the resulting product and 4) to illustrate how an ATO can be used and create value for the industry and research community.
