Welcome to the EADGENE Knowledge Database Wiki
The EADGENE Knowledge Database Wiki is intended as a central collaboration tool for the EADGENE Network and for other research groups working on animal disease genomics, with the aim of gathering information on appropriate and available data and making the information easily available to all members. The database was was initially set up to accomodate a list of genomic resources such as cDNA or EST libraries, BAC libraries, linkage and physical maps.
In order to contribute to the EADGENE knowledge database wiki you will need to be a registered member - you can register using the option in the top right of this page. This wiki is open to all contributers both within and outside the EADGENE Network

Introduction to this wiki ** READ THIS FIRST
This website is wiki-based, which means that it’s contents is editable by you, the user. Therefore, if you see something that is wrong or incomplete, then you have the responsibility, and furthermore, the power to correct it. So if there is a genomic resource that is not listed here, or you have created a new resource, you can add the information to this website.
Please follow these simple rules when using this information:
- If you know it to be wrong, then fix it.
- If you believe it might be wrong, then comment on it.
- If something is missing, then add it.
(For more information on wiki-websites, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikiwiki.)
Why a wiki instead of a normal website?
There are basically two ways of creating a central repository with information of genomic resources: either a single person/group gathers information on all resources, or the repository is built by the community. The first approach presents several problems: the person/group in question might not be aware of one or more resources, and it is very difficult to keep the list up-to-date. In contrast, a wiki relies on the responsibility of everyone, and is much more flexible: if someone finds that a certain resource is not listed, he/she can put it on the website in a very straightforward way, instead of relying on the initial webpage builders to update the website.
How to add/change information
Each wiki-page has an "Edit" link at the bottom which is avaialble to registered members. Clicking this will open a textbox where you can edit the contents of the website. Formatting options are available at the top of the editting box. Make sure that you Save your changes before exiting. Help and advice is available on the right side of the page once you have entered the wiki.
